Subsistence vs. Commercial Agriculture
Subsistence agriculture is commonly defined as self- sufficient or farming for the survival of ones self or family. This style of agriculture is non profitable and is produced at an extremely reduced scale compared to commercial agriculture. Additionally it does not acquire significant surplus, only enough to sustain life. Commercial agriculture is defined as the production of crops and farm animals for sale and distribution. This style of farming involves and provides for large corporations rather than family households. "Scientific knowledge and technological development" is more of the reliance and focus on the way the agriculture is handled rather than utilizing natural resources.

-Fisheries, livestock, and forestry continue to progress as a staple in the Bangladesh agriculture

Green Revolution Impact
With the occurrence of the Green Revolution technology and chemical agriculture was introduced to the ways of farming. Production was a plus considering the efficiency of these aspects but there was a multitude of negative effects, including, wearing away of topsoil, decline of family farms, groundwater contamination, health hazards, etc. These impacts were extremely significant to Bangladesh, especially if you take into account that 70% of the countries population relied on agriculture.

Summary Description
Over the years Bangladesh has not been applying all of its potential in agriculture. Their way of going about farming is primarily subsistence, but the continuously growing population threatens Bangladesh maintaining farming for just survival. The alteration in the current process are going to be seen in the way these crops are being linked to markets, more crop diversification, and applying better prices on the products going out. The reconstruction of agriculture through the use of technology could be insurmountable for Bangladesh.
